Mr Loophole getting his priorities right

Yup - the guy who has made a career (and no doubt a fortune) from allowing dangerous drivers to continue driving by exploiting loopholes in the law. Samples of the gobshite-at-work - http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mr-loophole-grandad-killed-speeding-3642605, and http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Fra...claims-sleep/story-24548446-detail/story.html.

Well - he's turned over a new leaf, and wants to make his voice heard on the REAL priorities for safer roads ....

or maybe not.

Digging around on this prized up a wee gem - "Nick Freeman has called on motorists to fight back against "goading" cyclists who post videos of drivers on the internet." Oh dear, Nick - not a convincing example.

How would wearing high vis have saved that old mans life? The car driver had just sent a text moments before colliding with the old man, he didn't see him until it was too late, the driver was not paying attention and I very much doubt that high vis would have made any difference at all.

I refused to be lectured on the rights and wrongs of anything by a lawyer who makes a very handsome living getting people off on technicalities.
Especially when it appears to be little more than an attempt to drum up work for his legal practice. In that respect it's a crying shame that regional media is in such a state that it will print this nonsense rather than employing journalists to go out and find some real stories.

We had similar a few years ago in the local press from a local Councillor about cyclists on pavements.

Went back to the paper with photos of the Councillor's house and street with a dozen cars parked illegally on the pavement including two of his, and asked if the Councillor would be supporting a case for the Police clamping down on ALL misuse of the pavements, which the paper ran as a legitimate question

Apparently motorists "have" to park on the pavement, but cyclists "choose" to cycle on the pavement that is why the former is essential and acceptable and the latter a risk to life and limb.

Heard no more about the campaign after the Police agreed that if requested to Police a certain area then they would do so without bias and ALL pavement offences would be ticketed and fined
