Does anyone know if you can get ones which allow yout to fast forward/backward through a file instead of just skipping forwards and backwards by a file each time? I've got a £8 Tesco one which doesn't let you do this, and as I use it mainly for lengthy downloads of radio programmes I don't like having to listen all the way through at one go.

Think most of them do it, even the cheaper ones. Mines some cheap one, but if I hold the fast forward button down it just fast forwards thorough the track.

Most players use the one-touch / click on the FF button to skip forward a track, and a long press on the same button to fast forward.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I went just a bit too far to the budget end of the market with my £8 one. Sounds OK, but no features.
