More enjoyable than I though!

Well had my bike about 3 weeks now and after wanting one for so long it's great to get on the road. Thing is I'm enjoying it way more than I anticipated. I'm already thinking of my next route before I have even finished the one I'm on. Oh and I realise living in the UK my next purchase needs to be wet weather riding attire :-/

Apparently the weather Gods may be about to reward us with extended sun!!! and temperatures that won't make you shiver!

Where did you read that? I just looked at the BBC weather pages, and it looks like more damp and cool weather for the next month!

That's so true, a year ago when I started cycling, I never thought I'd have spent what I have so far and still be planning on spending more with the knowledge it's not going to end there either.

Glad you're enjoying it. You never really have enough kit! As soon as you get to the point where you feel you have everything you need, you realise that it's time to replace it all over again! Expensive...but great fun!

Good news.

I am quite fit and spend a fair bit of time in the mountains where I live.

I restarted cycling after a 10 year injury induced break back in November last year although mileage was very low across Dec/Jan due to snow/ice.

I am still only doing 30-40 miles per week but on Sunday I did a mega-hike and I really noticed the difference on the ascents - I had a lot more "puff" presumably due to my increased aerobic activity.

Stick with it and enjoy the health benefits - they soon start to come!
