Hi folks and hoping this is in the correct (ish) section.
I noticed a couple of members had been discussing our previous event so thought would keep you informed of our 2013 event.
The area is one of the most beautifully scenic areas in the UK and benefits from quiet roads, It is sparsely populated so we offer a variety of routes to appeal to more people. We hope to reach out to more people further afield as time goes on.
There are 3 basic routes all with long or shorter options:
KINTYRE
KILLER (103) & ULTIMATE (70)
a 'round kintyre' route which is a hilly challenge the Killer also takes in the 33 mile version of the Sanda route below.

SANDA
(33/20)
the 33 version takes in the very scenic but fearsomely graded coastal 'Learside' road,

whilst the 20 takes a flatter inland route, both returning from Southend the same way as far as Stewarton. Where there is the choice of returning straight to town or a flat loop via the airport road.

Lussa XC
- Offroad Challenge, a road & off road route, which will take in Campbeltown's own 'Wee toon trail' on Beinn Ghuillean and forest routes between Loch Lussa and Ballochgair & Saddell. The shorter version returns from Ballochgair to Campbeltown by road and misses the Saddell loop.

Last but not least we have an event aimed at families with younger children
DAVAAR FAMILY & FUN ride ( 3-10 miles - terrain flat)
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/49958378/
This is simply round the Loch in Campbeltown, and can include any or all of the unclassified quiet road between Trench point (old shipyard) and Sheepfanks, Kildalloig Bay, the requirement for this is simply taking part. There is a fun picture finding quiz for children.
After the ride there is a popular hot & cold buffet and social provided by our sponsors the Ardshiel Hotel. The ride benefits Macmillan Cancer Support and thanks to sponsors covering our operational aspects we have in 2011/12 been able to hand 100% of all money raised to the charity raising over £4000 so far, we hope to do the same or increase this year.
The event is friendly & informal and you would be more than welcome to join us. Entry forms will be available online from w.e 24th May 2013.
We have a website at www.mokbike.com - this is awaiting updating for 2013 - kindly sponsored by the http://www.kintyreforum.com/index.php
