I've had my touring bike since mid-August of last year, and this Summer I will be putting some major miles on it. I have a set of Modolo YUMA Traveller trekking bars, and they work great, I love them.
However, last night, I saw a documentary - Mark Beaumont's world record attempt where he successfully cycled 18,000 miles around the world in 194 days. It was a remarkable feat, and a great watch. However, I noted how low-set his trekking bars were.
Admittedly, they aren't the same type - not made by YUMA, and not the Modolo model, I don't know what make they were - it didn't say in the documentary.
Anyway, his appeared to be almost flat... As in, there wasn't much of an angle to it. I have contacted the manufacturer to ask whether they have any instructions on how to set them up for best performance.
But, I haven't received a reply from them, so I figured I'd ask you guys. Do any of you have any experience with Modolo bars? Do you have any tips on what angle to set them at for best performance.
Below are a few pictures of my bars.
I don't know whether they are good images, or whether they will be of any help.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Jack.
