Mk to swindon route

Hello

in a months time im looking to cycle to a friends in swindon. I have searched online to see if someone has shared a route but i cant find one. this is a route that i made with garmin connect

what do you think of it, primarily i want to make sure its safe.

"Safe" is a very subjective measure. I'd have few concerns doing the bits of that route which I do know (which is, probably, most of it).

The dodgiest bit, I'd say, is the A41/A34 from Bicester to Oxford, which is a very fast dual-cabbageway. It's flat, open and fairly wide, with just 2 lanes on each side, but the long sight-lines do push up the speeds of cars along there and the traffic to the Bicester retail park (including goods vehicles) and the MOD traffic make it quite a busy route.

Well, there's a path that runs alongside the A41, but that brings challenges of its own.

Plan C is the old road which, IIRC, runs south-east of the A41/A34 for quite a way out of Bicester.
