Mixing tubeless sealant

Quick question on sealants.

My Mavic wheels came with Mavic own brand sealant so I used this up when first installing the wheels. I also brought a big bottle of stans sealant for top ups but now im wondering if I need to remove the tyres, clean out all the old mavic sealant before topping up with Stans stuff? Or can I just add stans sealant to the tyres and not worry about mixing brands?

Also do you guys just keep topping up the sealant every couple months? surely if you did this 3/4 times the tyres would have doubled in weight?

It is all more or less the same stuff. No problem mixing.

In reality I rarely top-up, certainly not on the 6-month-ish typical interval. What usually happens is that a tyre either wears out or get so full of pinprick holes (evidenced by small damp spots on the tyre carcass) that I replace the tyre and do a fresh sealant fill.
