Mixing Groupset Parts?

If I was to have Ultegra 6700 Chainset, 6700 Front and Rear Changer and 6700 Brakes, can I have 105 5600 or 5700 Sti Shifters...would this be compatible, or just not work?
And would it matter on what cassette I have (obviously a 10 speed one)

As long as they are the same speed the cable throws are the same so no problem mixing groups. Sheldon has a table somewhere that confirms this.
