What to do? contact organizer in first instance?

I came in ahead of a clubmate but am placed about 10 positions behind him- guess they got me down for one less lap than I did. Probably happens all the time. Wouldn't normally care but it's my best overall yet.

I think this happens regularly in 'cross races. Our first race of the season all went a bit pear shaped results wise. Had people placed above me even though they'd apparently done fewer laps and my mate was supposedly two laps down on me despite me never lapping him. Bit of a cock up really. I'd email the organisor and state your case.

With my local league, results are prepared by the league co-ordinators not the race organiser. I am one of them and getting an accurate result each week is a matter of personal pride.

E-mail organiser or coordinator and politely explain. Usually you will be missed off one of the laps. It's easy to check the sheets and see - if you are on at least one they should count it if it gives you a position consistent with previous results.

With a bit of experience it's quite easy and interesting to recreate a race from lap sheets, watching the patterns of numbers.

Fixed!

As it happens the lap times were posted on the internet today. Mine were about 7:30, one was 15 minutes. The mistake is easy to spot.
