ah the story continues, and as a different topic, a different thread. While investigating tyre/wheel size for my other issue, i noticed some nipped teeth on the outer chainring.....oh this bike has done about 50 miles since shop......thats gotta be bad right ?

Can i get a stronger better chainring to replace a truvativ powerglide 50/36 that doesnt cost a fortune ?

Cheers

Hi Error

They might be deliberate, some chainrings have a special pattern on some teeth to aid shifting which make them look damaged. Can you post a photo?

The powerglide ring has 2 flat topped teeth, four teeth apart, near to where it says powerglide and another two directly opposite. They are designed to aid smooth shifting.

If you own anything with a Shimano Hyperglide cassette on it, do not, under any circumstances look at the teeth on it. The difference will panic you even more.

Trust me, your Boardman is a good bike, it is not broken. Trust it, ride it, love it.
