Puzzle game procrastinator!
Tour of the Moors is entertaining. Four days around the N. Yorks Park. Or is that too long?
Or too steep!!

My mini tour was this weekend and, given the storm, I decided to pivot. The plan was to ride from Bath to Wells, to stay overnight and then ride back the next day. Only 25 miles ish each way but that’s fine for January! However given the forecast and the winds today I decided to hike and run instead. It was still fun but I’m sad not to have loaded my bike and ridden!!

Thanks, Cathryn; I've been looking for a mini tour route for next weekend, and you have inspired me!

My version is train to Bristol, cycle to Bath, cycle to Wells then on day 2 cycle home to Taunton.

We do mainly weekends away in the van. Nothing too far away and aways to get out on the bikes. A few already planned for April and May👍🏻

I'm so glad. Wells is lovely. Would recommend the premier inn (every room has a bath!) and there are two fantastic cafes - Strangers with Coffee (for coffee and cake) and Loaf (for brunch).

I used to work in Wells. Lunchtime wanders around the city were a pleasure.

Thanks for the tip about the Premier Inn.

My LEJoG took me through Wells….what a lovely place for a spot of light lunch (possibly at the Bishop’s Eye), but by ‘eck there was a vicious hill to leave the place 🤣

Just back home from my latest mini-tour.

Marginal weather forecast, North Devon, fitness moderate, no planning done, no bike fettling done.

Sure, it will be fine.

The train to Barnstaple was enjoyable; an afternoon in the town brought back memories of visits to the Children's Hospice years ago. The Royal and Fortescue Hotel was good.

Wednesday morning and the light drizzle didn't do the Tarka Trail justice. I enjoyed the birdlife very much.
It took me about 15 miles to shake off my everyday cares and woes, then it became a joy. I had a break at the Puffing Billy cafe in Great Torrington and booked my night's accommodation near Okehampton. At this point the sun broke through for about ten minutes.

Earlier today I left the B + B planning to cycle the 55 miles home. The forecast along the way was for light cloud until 3pm.

Within one km of the B+B someone up in the sky turned on a waterhose. I cycled on hoping for a break in the weather which didn't come. Near Crediton I changed direction and bolted to Exeter St David's train station.

Home now, about 80 miles cycled, loads of climbing and a lot of respect for Devon's landscape and changeable weather.

It's about this long since I've been touring in a Mini:

I think the next thread over qualifies as a mini-tour. Starting on the 12th noon-ish (whenever I reach the Drover cycles and get organized) at Hay-on-Wye, finishing on the 16th morning at Holyhead, following the Lon Las Cymru. First time riding alone. First time riding in the UK.
