Ooh well done - half a century and a big hill. You must be grinning

My longest ride to date was 66 miles for BHF and it was tough. Doing the New Forest Wiggle ride in a few weeks. 51 miles - once you've reached 50 before, it seems less daunting.

My youngest hit his first 100 miles today and then 200k just to finish off - not bad for a 12 year-old: https://www.strava.com/activities/700508075

Not bad going for a 12 year old. If these things were proportional to age, then i should have been hitting 500 miles today :-)

It’s quite pleasing looking back over the last few months and seeing the progress. Trips that this year I would have regarded as a “long ride” are now just starting points. I’m going a bit faster, but the main difference is that I’m spending longer cycling, and more time between breaks.

I’m also following different types of roads. At the beginning of the year, just about everything I did - probably 80-90% - was on cycle paths or very quiet roads. I wasn’t very confident on main roads, and avoided hills like the plague.

Yesterday when I did the 50, more than half was on busy roads - to be honest, one was too busy for comfort - and the rest were country/farm roads. And there was a 1000 ft hill in the middle!

Well done, thats a great effort. I hate hills but its a necessity here as you can't get out without going up a hill!!

Well done :okay:

Haven't set myself any goals just yet, having only just got a bike, but next year I'll be looking to reach some
