Just a thought, I can get Crud Roadracers on over 25mm tyres by reversing the stays; it makes them just that little bit wider.

But I don't need any more tyres - got 2 spare sets.

In my case, the clearance problem with 25Cs is not the width of the tyres but the extra height. My 23Cs are a tight squeeze and I need to tweak the Cruds fairly frequently to deal with annoying rubbing sounds. No chance with 25Cs.
