Did 63.29 miles today which is 101.855 km so my metric century has been done. When I did my first 50 midway through May (done a few more since) I thought that I would have to build in a refuel stop to tackle the metric 100 but as it turned out I didn't need it. Couple of bananas, couple of granola bars plus 750 ml of High5 2:1 plus water consumed on my journey saw me complete it in one go.
Dead chuffed. Off to clean my trusty steed now.

Nice one. I would have stopped at least once or twice for 5 minutes breathers. What route did you take?

You would most probably be going faster than me anyway. My average speed was 14.6mph over a not particularly hilly route. I live on the west side of Cardiff near the BBC studios so - Llantrisant Rd to Groes Faen right at lights towards Llantrisant then Pontyclun, Aberthin, through Cowbridge up onto A48 down Crack Hill Ewenny, Wick, Llantwit Major, loop through Barry, Wenvoe, Culverhouse Cross, up the Tumble along the A48, past the Aubrey Arms and right after to Welsh St Donats, down to Peterston Super Ely along to St Brides over the level crossing to St Georges. top of Ely down through St Fagans up to Rhydlafar back along Llantrisant Road and home.
I had it planned on MapmyRide but changed the route at Culverhouse Cross so rather than remap it I just typed it out for you.

I have nothing to compare it with as I haven't used anything else. It is only the last couple of months that I have upped my mileage above 30 in preparation for the London to Paris. Below 30 I use just water (no snack either) but for the 40, 50 mile rides I have started using the High5 2:1 as sachets were given free with Wiggle orders. I have since ordered my own 2.2kg jar. I find it pleasant to drink (orange) and feel that it helps my recovery for the following days ride - coupled with the pint of low fat milk at the end. At my age (62) I need all the help I can get.

I changed my seatpost a little while ago to one with 2 adjusting screws. The best thing I have ever done as far as saddle comfort goes. Before I found it difficult to level the saddle as the post had one screw and a ratchet system to angle the seat. Whatever adjustment I tried, come 20 miles, I was in a lot of discomfort. With the new post (still using the same saddle) I was able to make fine levelling adjustments to the saddle over a number of rides and now do not have the problem that I had before - soreness in the perineum area.
Hope this helps,

Nice one!

I did my first metric ton today too. 70.2 miles longest I have been so far by about 10 miles. Legs were tired and arse was numb but all in all very satisfying.

Well done to you too. 70.2 miles. You overshot the metric ton by quite some distance,

I think your being modest there's a few good climbs on that route. I doubt I would have been quicker. I normally just run on ordinary food plus nuts and sweets.
