When a messenger conversation gets more than a page long, and I click on the conversation, I get taken not to the last unread message but to a seemingly arbitrary place in the already-read part of the conversation (in the current case, the end of the first page). I remember having a similar problem a while back and forgot to report it - in that case the conversation was very long and it would drop me somewhere on page thirteen or other - it was a bit of a chore trying to keep on top of it. I keep missing messages in a conversation. Is it supposed to jump to the last unread message in the way it does when you click on a thread title? Cos that would be much nicer.

Thanks!

Hi Claudine,

Clicking on the title (both in the messenger and forum) just takes you to the first entry, not the first unread.

To go to the first unread entry you have to click on the little orange square on the left of the title.

If you are clicking on the little orange icon, let me know as I'll need to raise it with IPS tech support.

Cheers,
Shaun

Really?

Clicking on the thread title always takes me to the first unread, exactly the same as clicking on the
new_post.png
does.

Nope, on the forums.

Well that's interesting. They are two distinctly different link URL's - the orange icon is specifically designed to take you to the first "new" post on the thread, whilst the thread title is a simple link to the entry point of the thread, the first post.

Can anyone else using FF confirm if it works this way for you?

Thanks,
Shaun
