Men benefit from women’s bibs?

I’ve heard stories about men wearing female bib knickers because there’s more/better padding. Women’s always seem to be cheaper so that would be a bonus if they work well.
Any truth in this or experience?

I used to wear my a pair of sister's tights under my trousers when doing my paper round on bitter winter mornings. That's the closest I can get. It was still blimmin freezing.
