It is not easy is it? and just seems to get more difficult as each year passes. After 50 there might be limited opportunities to meet new people.

You will want to be looking your best, but not be too forward. So what is most important? A co-ordinated outfit, and clothes that complement your physique? What if your hair is a complete mess on this occasion? I think you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. It is probably easy to spot if they have all the right "equipment".

Making too much eye contact could give the wrong signals. The first time you meet them, it might be too obvious to ask if they are single or fixed.

I suppose you could err on the side of caution and ask them if they like Beer or prefer Tea. Probably better to avoid Politics, as it could be difficult to get the balance right.

However attracted to them you are, even after you have met them a few times, it is way too soon to say you would like to see them in the Buff.

So, would you like to know what to say, on meeting new people after 50?

Just say "hello". I am sure that when you have just cycled 50 miles together on a Cycle Chat ride, they won't mind that your hair is a mess, and you are a bit hot and sweaty.

Depends on why you are meeting them.
I find people in their 50's just smile and say hello. They generally seem to be polite and open and comfortable with who they are and what they are and tend not to smother their natural selves too much.

Perhaps you are being just a little reticent Speicher. Cycling for 50 miles together before saying hello:?::biggrin:.

OK:smile:

Perhaps some guys are put off by your use of big words?

All articles that coruscate with resplendence are not truly auriferous.

.....or maybe it's just me that has a problem with three tenths of your tagline.

Go on a group ride with them, then pop the question. If they go all coy on you, tell them you were asking about their bike.

which three tenths?

If you'd put a smiley on the end I would have known you have a sense of humour but you didn't so I dont.:sad:
