Mech hanger bolt?

Is this a specific thing or will any bolt and nut that fits do the job? I have a Bianchi Nirone frame and the hanger wasn't bolted on when it arrived, it was just taped to the frame. In my box of bits I have bots that will do the job but is that okay? Is there something specific I should be using?

Neither the hanger or the frame are tapped / threaded.

Looks like a chainring bolt would be perfect if it wasn't about 3mm too long

chainring bolts are non standard thread so any bolt will not do.

be aware that there are two lengths of chainring bolt - one for holding 2 chain rings and other for 1 chain ring; the latter is shorter in length. Failing that, you could try filing the bolt down - easier said than done..... or contact bike shop/.manufacturer for a bolt?

I thought I had some singlespeed size chainring bolts but alas no.
