Just completed it today. I now ache, but am happy at achieving a few milestones. My first sportive, my first metric century and my new fastest top speed on a bike (45mph). I was also very pleased with my time, 3 hours 52 minutes for my first metric century. Plus I think I was the only one there on a cyclocross with 35mm tyres!
The event was very well organised, and I'd certainly recommend it for next year. A great atmosphere and excellent signage on the route. My only quibble is that the second feed station wasn't marked, and I didn't stop at the first one, so I did the whole thing without a break, and didn't bring any food with me!
If anyone's out there wavering over whether to try a sportive or not, I'd now highly recommend giving it a go, you won't regret it!
