Masked men rob two teenagers of their bikes in Sheffield.

Officers in Sheffield have launched an investigation following a reported robbery of two mountain bikes.

On 29 September at 6.10pm, it is understood that three masked males approached two teenagers while in Grenoside Woods and stole their bikes.

One bike is described as a gun metal coloured specialised Rockhopper. The second bike is described as a blue Trek bike.

I Hope this is not going to be one of them type of crimes that spreads to the 'feckless of society', that the cops cannot get on top of, like knife crime has become.

I am pleased they have launched an investigation, but surprised based on what we hear about shortage of manpower and being stretched.

These days most people have a mob phone, but I never saw anyone in view phoning cops for example. Under the circumstances of the situation I can understand the risk. Obviously someone filmed it.

Story in the local newspaper last week of two men being assaulted and robbed of their bikes (one a black Trek Fuel EX 9.7 Caron worth £4,500 and the second bike is a red Orbea Wild FS H30 electric bike worth £5,500) on a cycle path in Edinburgh. The two who were attacked are in their mid 30s.
