Marcello Strada Leggero on a budget

Hi everybody

I'm a 60 year old newbie to bike building. I've started it as a "from scratch" fun project short before christmas using an Excel sheet.

It is a Marcello Strada Leggero frame with a frame height of 61 cm, carbon fork, 1x11 gearing, Mavic Aksium rims, carbon flatbar, carbon saddle, carbon seat post, carbon bottle holder, GRX crank set, 105 rear derailleur, KMC chain, SQLAB inner bar ends 411, Cube Acid Pro 30 Lighting etc.
The weight currently is 7,85 kg. But with my 100kg fighting weight I didn't want to create less weight on the bike for the first time. I will use it as fitness/touring bike to shave my own weight and of course the bike also has a lot of potential to loose additional grams. It's really comfortable to ride the bike.

I have completed the bike during Jan/Feb/Mar and now it's finished...... for now. hehehe....
Total costs exact 976 €.

Due to the fact that the bike runs very smooth during the past 200 km I have started a little bit of weight shaving.

1x SCHMOLKE Expander SL with Aheadcap
1x LIZARD SKINS Grips DSP 30,3 mm schwarz
2x SCHWALBE Tube 28" SV20 60 mm extralight
2x CONTINENTAL Tyre Grand Prix 28" 700 x 25C BlackChili PolyX-Breaker
CNC Brake levers

As a result the weight goes down from 8,35 kg to 7,9 kg. Without frontlight, taillight and sidestand it's exact 7,85 kg.

To be frank I didn't expect to loose 0,45 kg on the 170 € quid I have paid for the parts. But I'm very satisfied with the result.

It would be cheaper to ditch a water bottle and buy water from a shop!

Ditching the bottle would be possible. But where's the fun in building/modifying the bike ?
