magicshine connector problems

My magicshine light seems to have developed a dodgy connection between the battery and lamp. I've narrowed it down to the connector plug. Although the plug physically stays together fine, the electrica connection seems dodgy - sometimes I manage to get it in a position where it can stay connected for a whole ride, other times i'm not so successful, and it cuts out on me when riding, and i'm left twisting the connector to try and get it working again!

Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue or if there are any quick fixes other than trying to find a new connector to wire in...

Best way is to buy either an extension lead or splitter, and splice in the new connector. Easy enough with some electrical tape to insulate. I've done this with my 6xAA battery packs and my home brew lipo pack.

Find out where the break is,sounds like its at the connector though.

I've had a rear light do this as the cables kept getting stretched mounted on panniers, so I changed the cable and altered the routing so it wasn't stressed.

good idea buying an extension lead for the connectors. I never connect it up in a stressed state, think it must be wear and tear from constantly connecting / disconnecting (it's a couple of years old & I'm sure i probably pulled it by the wire a few times too whilst wearing gloves )
