I looked at a few videos a couple of days ago when I saw the thread above. They seemed pretty good to me though they all seemed to end up with the phrase ''Wipe off excess.''

A good combination of sensible, bizarre and downright dangerous advice.

"Using the bottom run of chain means gravity helps the lube to run into the chain." Would the same not be true of the top run?

"If you’re not sure exactly how hard you want your tyres to be, inflate to the maximum recommended." Stupid, dangerous advice

"If the tyres are too soft pump some air in." Hands up - who knew..??!!

"Hard tyres keep the wheels round so - in general - harder is better than softer, but if the tyres are too hard you loose their suspension effect. every imperfection in the riding surface, every bump and ridge is like a tiny hill. The upward side slows you down but going down the other side gravity speeds you up. Gravity only pushes you forward if your tyres are touching the ramp that converts downward force into forward motion. If a bump launches you off the ground you don't get any benefit from the 'down'. If you're off the ground you're slowing down. The point of air tyres is to keep you on the ground" Pro Tip - never write cycling tips while high on hallucinogenic class A drugs. Utter tosh.

There is no info on who wrote this stuff, who built the site or indeed anything which gives them authority to write this stuff, or any credibility from the reader's point of view. On the face of it, parts of their advice seem highly suspect. But, everyone is bookmarking it. Why?
