Okay, lucky Kovu has just found a £20 note at the back of the wardrobe. But I assume it has been thorough the washing machine or something. It's got a rip down the Queen, a rip in the middle, and a few minor rips on the left.

I am guessing I can't use it? It is all in one piece though ....

Should still work - if not take it to the bank...they will give you a new one !!!

don't know what the rules are these days but used to be the case if the security strip was there and one of the numbers you could exchange it immediately. Failing that bank would send it to Bank of England on your behalf and eventually they would agree to pay you.

Cheers guys. If I am going to the bank to swap it for a new one, do you think I should sellotape it, or not bother?

My mates wallet fell into a bonfire many years back and buy the time we got it out some of the notes where burnt. But the number was still intacked so he on the off chance and it was all cool they just swooped them over.
