I have a pair of cheap lycra shorts but they have given me a rash, the problem is in the stitching where the padding connects with the top of the leg, you can feel a sort of bobble but its not smooth, but its not rough... its a lump..if you get my drift.
Now cream would be helpfull but a better pair of shorts would be helpfull too.
At what price do you start to get better shorts I have seen some Bianchi Corsa's (£50) which look good but I wont know till I can feel them in my hands.. or should I be expected to pay a bit more?
So any suggestion on a good pair of shorts..

I'd advise to by as good as you can afford, but remember that pricey doesn't always = good. Read reviews a lot, ideally buy from a LBS so you can go and handle possibilities. If you can't get to a LBS, buy from somewhere online that accepts easy returns, both wiggle and CRC use collect+ which is a free, highly accessible service to send stuff back.

My favorite padded shorts were from Lidl, they were about £15 and they have been fantastic. However, my more expensive shorts, which were about £40, I have barely worn and rather than digging them out, I opted for bib shorts from Wiggle which were £30 ish.
I am not convinced that the more you pay the comfier the shorts. Sure the lycra quality is going to be better.
Have you thought about using a quick-unpick on your iffy short stitching and then just restitching it flatter so that there is no bobble?

I like Pearl Izumi shorts myself - mid range

Wiggle's DHBs always perform well, Altura make decent stuff, personally I don't like Endura as the couple of things I have had have been poorly made but others have the opposite experience

Who makes the Bianchi ones? I expect you are paying for the name here.

Everyone who has them say you cannot beat Assos but they'll be £150

I should think £50 will get you a decent pair of shorts. Otherwise, many chaps swear by bibs

If you prefer bibs then dhb by wiggle is quite good I recently bought endura fs260 pros for £68 on sales o_O

Took a while to get used to after a wash they form better. Rapha stuff too but like above you pay more not necessary good. Individual difference pal

I like my bibs because I don't then get a gap between waistband and top. One of my tops seems a bit short, hence the gap. Also, I don't have the shorts waistband to deal with, I find the bibs much more comfy.

The dhb ones are difference in feel. One has a thicker pad than the other. Go onto the wiggle site look at The bibs then scroll to the bottom you'll see a chart explaining difference.

With bibs much cycle friendly (well for me) with shorts I had to readjust every mile or so. Bibs stay in place odd readjustment

ShuttVR are good brand get a size up I got caught out by this. The classic is 40£ from fetishbikecompany.com
