Hi just thought I would post a quick message, I've been lurking on here for a few months reading various threads and picking up tips from various people and sharing their experiences wether a newbie or experienced cyclist.
I am 50 and have been fed up with going to the gym for thr last few years and decided to get back on a road bike after 25 years.
Anyway to cut a long story short I picked up my new road bike this morning and have just got back after a 6 mile round trip and wishing I had done it a lot sooner.
I just wanted to say thanks to those who post here either asking or giving advice it has been very helpful in helping me choose, so if you are In the Teesside area and see
A good looking older bloke cycling away that's not me I'm the ugly one round the corner.

Just In case you are wondering I have a Cube Peloton Pro, with shimano clipless pedals and a pair of dhb roadshoes. Never worn clipless before but had a few goes in the garage before biting the bullet and getting on the road...found them ok just remembered to get one foot free a good few yards (50) before any junctions..
Anyway sorry to go on just wanted to provide some feedback..
Will posts some photos of me bike when I find my camera!!!!!

Also jealous! Very jealous...what made you choose the Cube? Did you try a few different makes and models? Also how are you going to use it...commuter, weekends or 'as much as possible'?

Mainly how it looked and felt when I sat on it..I did have a try on a Focus vario I think it was but didn't ''feel'' right for me, I originally tried a Claude Butler criterium at Go Outdoors..many months ago, but slowly worked my wat upto this one.....I was interested in the Triban 3 or 5 as they seem good value for money but the nearest shop is Sheffield and as I said earlier I found the advice in valuable.....
My wife has bought me a pair of rollers so the garage is cleaned out for the winter months...I have set a goal of doing the York100 next year so it's something to aim for..
