Hi Folks

I have L3 lumbar arthritis that is pretty painful after I ride my bike, to the point where I can't sit comfortably on a chair for more than five mins. It takes a week or longer to settle and was wondering if anyone has similar problems and how they have overcome it (or at least reduce the severity of it). I've done the RICE, probably helps loads but still very sore. Was on bike for 30 mins on Saturday and still can't sit and probably won't be on bike again for a month because of it.

Thanks

Word on the street is Tiger Balm is the stuff.

Word in the underground is Capsaicin containing creams are the business.

I don't have arthritis thankfully but have often used Tiger Balm for various other aches and pains and I find it wonderful stuff. It is sold in the local pound shop now for £1 for three jars. The first time I ever bought it, it cost a small fortune from a health food shop.

Do try all of the above, not at the same time. If the Doctor is unable to help consider a recumbent. If you can sit in a deckchair without pain any recumbent with a mesh seat is likely to be OK. But beware recumbents come in far more shapes and sizes than Dfs. So try as many as you can before you buy. If you can get to Ely D tek have a huge stock and insist you try more than one before you buy.

It sounds low in your back i had a slipped disc a few years ago know recoved but still sore somtimes sounds like you need a pyiso.
After a long ride know i sit in a bath of cold water i find this good for me.
But get some advise from a pyiso do you know it is arthritis a pysiso might give you some exersise to do each day.
