Following up from my previous thread on getting a new mtb/hybrid, I have ignored some advice (cough * carrera *cough) and followed some other advice and ended up with this
Changed the tyres straight away (by myself may I add) with Continental .... (got advice here for those as well) and went on a lovely ride early in the morning to Whitstable.
Ok is bottom of the range but as someone pointed out it would do perfectly well for my needs, the forks are not lockable but was surprised as they were not very bouncy, maybe because they are cheap? SR Suntour SF8-XCT-V2, 80mm, one piece alloy lower, 28mm Hi-Ten stanchions.... and the other thing that is a tiny bit more fidgety is to take the wheels out because of the V brakes (but taken that into account as wont be riding in the wet!), otherwise it's a very comfy ride, not heavy either so very happy for £238!!
Saving so much allows me to up my budget for a carbon Cube road bike later on in the year
....
