Lost light warning

I have a top end Cateye rear lamp that is excellent, costing the thick end of £30. I attached it to the loop on my underseat bag with the clip provided, and all seemed secure. Last week I was out riding when the rider behind me told me that my light had dropped off. It was lucky that I had someone following me. I have now drilled a couple of holes in the clip and lamp body, threading zipties through them and the bag loop to ensure that everything stays together in one lump from now on. This is posted as a warning to others who have spent a fair sum on their lights.

I 've had the same - one went straight down a drain !! !!

I now put an elastic band around the light and clamp below the fabric loop - this stops the light popping out.

Not very pretty but effective and still easy to fit and remove.

Had similar , bumped off the kerb and the rear light attached to the Topeak saddle bag fell apart .
The back piece was still atached but the rest in the road , picked all the pieces up and reasambled back at home , it worked! and no damage , this was a cheap Bikehut light.
