I was searching for my old 'wasp down the bibshorts' post and found this link to it in another post, but the link is now broken. Did some forum reorganisation cause lots of old posts to be lost?

No, but we've been through a number of forum upgrades since then and it wasn't always possible to update previous thread/post links.
