Today I noticed that on my Galaxy the bottom three sprockets on the cassette are lose (7, 8, 9), the main part of the cassette also feels lose.
I haven't had a look yet, but is it just a case of taking the wheel off and tightening the cassette back up, or is this something more sinister?

I would think so.

What M. Pig said - what I've found occasionally happens is that the last sprocket goes on wrong (doesn't quite locate on the splines properly) so the lockring tightens on a sproket cluster that's not quite as far on the hub as it should be.

Before tightening the lockring, I'd suggest checking that the top sprockets are on the splines correctly.

Thanks guys. I took the wheel off and the cassette merrily slid off. Took the opportunity to give it a good clean and put it back on. Now all appears to be functioning correctly.
