I've come to the conclusion that the most comfortable shorts I own are the ones I bought from Aldi about 3 years ago, which have a narrow front part to the padded section. Other shorts that I have paid a lot more for cause irritation between my thighs.
So, can anyone advise which manufacturers produce shorts with a narrow pad. Has anyone else suffered the same issue?

It might be down to the stitching too... Gore tend to be narrower at the front than the back, as are some DHB. A good manufacturer will put a picture of the pad and shape up on their website. I tend to have the same problem as you with Altura bib shorts.

I take it you mean bib short? Though the same principles apply to padded inserts on baggies.

My craft made radioshack bis shorts are narrow at the front of the pad.
When inside out the pad resembles a saddle, narrow bit for the front, wider for the derrierre.
Not sure if craft have that pad on all there shorts.

yep, when I swapped from a Brooks B17 to a Charge Spoon. Wearing Shutt VR Club bibs. Got used to it eventually.
