Looking for new Track Bike

I've recently got into track cycling and been hiring the local velodrome's Argon 8. Not a good bike! I've got the budget for a Dolan TC1 Sugino DD75 with the FastForward F6T wheel set. Anyone got any thoughts on that or better suggestions. My budget is 1500-2000.

Hi. Which velodrome is that? I've only ever seen one argon 18 bike at the track, and that's mine! I'm always on the lookout for another one but they are not for sale in the UK at the moment.

In answer to your question tho...the Dolan is a nice bike from what I've seen. I have heard that some models has issues with seaport clamps but I think it got sorted.

I currently reside in Ontario, Canada. Moving back to Scotland permanently near Glasgow. Currently use the Milton Velodrome in Canada. It was built a couple of years ago for the Pan American Games. All the bike hires are Argon 8 and they suck. I started certifying for Glasgow Emirates last summer. Hope to pick up there again in June.

That explains it. Canadian bikes and all that. Hire bikes are always a bit sketch. That and the gearing is so spinny you need a cadence of 140+ just to hold wheel.

Hope you enjoy the track riding whatever bike you pick. There is a very good Facebook page that has some good stuff on it. Nice cervello on it at the moment!

You're right, but good for keeping the cadence up I guess. A bitch keeping up with the pace line though. Thanks for the link.
