Looking for LBS in West London

Hi,

I'm a newbie here and did read the FAQ and sticky section on LBSs, but couldn't find one recommended near me.

I live near Housnlow in West London, and commute by bike most days to my work near Victoria. I would appreciate any recommendations for a bike shop that I can trust to do a full tear down and rebuild.

I had used Moore's cycles in Isleworth previously, but have had a few problems and am looking for an alternative LBS to do the heavy servicing.

Any help much appreciated.

you could try Action Bikes in Whitton High Street, or there's a new(ish) one opened in Brentford High Street (near Paddy Power) but the name escapes me.

I've not tried either myself, but have heard OK things about Action. Anyone else used them?

Liam at Action Bikes in Chiswick seems to be a good mechanic, although Dean of Moore Bros has gone down in my estimation recently for screwing up my chainset. I haven't bought anything from Biz cycles in Brentford yet but the manager seems to know his stuff and they also have the added bonus of a cute looking sales assistant.

Thanks for all the advice. I've now booked my bike in at Moor Bros in Twickenham, and will let you know how it goes. It will be interesting to see if they can fix my very sqeaky bottom bracket.

I think you may need a doctor or dietician for that!

Well, I'm glad to report that my squeaky bottom bracket is fixed, and without surgery required! Moores Bros Twickenham did a great job on my bike, even though when I picked it up this morning it was missing the rear light. They have offered to replace it.

Glad to hear all went well. What was wrong with your bottom bracket? was it replaced?

Do you mean Wizz Bikes on the highstreet? They are very helpfull in there, and will be my point of call for my next service.

What sales assistant is that? I've only ever seen the owner and some young boys in there (ooohhh..is that who you meant?)
