Hi All,

Im going to be shortly upgrading my hybrid to a ligter quicker road bike

Currently Im really liking this one http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/road/aether/aether-10 it has everything I need, but I also love the look of the nice simple frame...

But...Does anyone know of other road bikes that have the similar look (IE nice simple frame) to this particular one. Basically I really like the look of the Aether - not a reason to buy a bike I know, but it also has everything I would want to ....But as a last resort I thought I should ask here for other options before I buy it ;)

cheers!

Have you considered the Aether 20 or indeed the Aether 30?

I jest... hell if you like the look of it (and I do too) well buy it. Ride one first though - it's not wise to buy a bike without riding it first.

Looks like a really nice straightforward bike. The way they describe the frame makes it sound as though it's been well thought out. Slightly more relaxed headtube angle giving a shorter top tube but with no toe-overlap with mudguards etc.

Yeah, and a Croix de Fer with 11 speed Alfine would be a great all-rounder !

Genesis are lovely bikes. Charge also make excellent, straighforward bikes and the Tifosi bikes look good. Kinesis frames are spot on and ride beautifully in my experience.
I am also very impressed by Giants in general and the Defy range in particular.

Pity, the bikes get very good reviews by the cycling press and people who own them.

They certainly offer a lot of bike for your money ,all the cycle club were saying i had a very good bike on the club run.

I'm mostly joshing, but I was with a few other guys watching the tour and we all do media ish things so are shockingly bitchy about adverts and enjoy good ones. The skoda tour one is amazing vs the boardman one which was gay and the wiggle one that was ok but cheap

The TdF TV show has always had a history of piss-poor, cheap, and cheesy adverts. It's all part of the experience! Does anybody remember the grating Lucozade on from a couple of years ago: repeated every ten minutes it was like chinese water torture. And didn't they try to get Chris Hoy to act in that Kellog's ad? Not a good move.

The Skoda one is good though, and it must have been fun shooting it.
