looking for a particular Light

Im trying to find a light which does not flash fast Ive seen these about on other bikes it almost like a lighthouse flash very powerful but delayed between flashes almost like turning a torch on and off you could say a blinking light?

Im looking for quite a powerful one as I commute on country lanes with blind bends and wan to create a distraction to other motorists coming the other way

Ive had a good look round but can only find constant flashing mode lights

Don't know about the light, but wanting to distract motorists on dark country roads with blind bends sounds like a seriously dangerous strategy for you and the drivers!!

I assume you just want to make them aware of your presence rather than distract them from it?!

I find that one good light to see with plus a smaller light flashing does the trick. On country lanes at night people generally slow down much more than they would do in daylight as they try to work out what you are.

As for slow flashing lights - not sure why you think this is better than a quicker flashing light. My flasher is a Moon Gem 1.0 that has a fairly quick flash mode and a very quick flashing strobe mode.

Sounds to me that you are really looking for a peculiar (and rather dangerous) light rather than a particular one - you need a light that allows other road users to track your motion, what you describe fails that test.

Just get a backup flasher to go with the constant light.

Don't go for a 'big' powerful flash as it really buggers up drivers ability to see at night.

Eg. Magicshine lights on constant but low mode pointed down at the road are OK (solves the light spill) but on the max flash - yee gods it's a killer - one to you and to other road users.

I have a Knog Toad, despite it's tendancy to ping off (now cured with an elastic band - nothing like a bodge) it has both a fast flash and a slow one. Something like that might fit the bill.

At least if you've got an adequate main light, the flasher makes you appear as a bike, rather than a motorbike.

Ok perhaps I never put the OP across properly on my commute there is a cyclist (dont see him all the time) he has quite a powerful flash light you can see it forat least 500 -750 meters away its flashes constantly but not rapidly I figured this type of flashing light would be kinder to motorists rather than a rapid flashing light some flashing lights look startling

I already have an extremely powerful front light which I point towards the ground but in doing so I am narrowing the beam length wise and therefore cars are not going to see me until Im near a bend or on it the alternative would to point the beam directly ahead but that would bling some motorists and I want to avoid this so Im looking for something that will get me seen but not be a rapid flashing light.

I looked at the creed light very powerful but flashes like mad which I guess may startle some oncoming motorists
