Hi,

Looking at a new hybrid and struggling to find exactly what i want for the type of riding i do. Ideally looking at Specialized Sirrus Comp but could i fit 700x35 tyres on it? If not would I be able to put 700x35's on a Trek 7.5?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Why not email the companies or talk to your local Spesh/Trek dealer

I've emailed a couple of LBS (my nearest Trek dealer doesn't sell Spesh) and they seem to think it'll be OK. However I foolishly did a search on the internet first and the general feeling was that 700x32 was about the upper limit. Now the doubts in my head I was looking for someone with some actual experience. Unfortunately I can't find any dimensions on the inner rim width of either bike to check for myself.... I'm probably just being overly cautious.

Interestingly one LBS offered the Sirrus Comp with 700x35's & an £80 discount and my nearest LBS added £10 on to the price of the Trek 7.5FX for fitting 700x35's. Now they're within £60 of each other it's turned into a bit of a no brainer....

Andy, I recently removed 45C tires from my hybrid which are only 17.5mm rims. They were factory fitted and seemed to work ok. Don't know if this helps.
