They're excellent, but then so are the keo classics! I got a pair in a merlin cycles sale last year and can't complain. I can't tell the difference between them and the classics though.

But, they're carbon...

I've had a set for just over a year now. They are nice and light (had DA SPD-SLs before) but not as "instinctive" to clip in (in my experience). I also sometimes find that their lightness works against them a little - if you miss a clip-in they seem to spin foever. Once engaged they're great - firm and supportive.

I have a couple of pairs of the normal Keo2Max pedals - it's very hard to justify an extra £20-30 expense for saving only 16g.
Compared to my Look Deltas the Keo2Max pedals are just as easy to clip in to, but feel far more secure. I've managed to nearly "run" across the concourse at Birmingham New Street in them without slipping, so they do their job.

I'm surprised that Chrisz's pedals spin a lot - when they first came out a lot of people complained that the bearings were too stiff. The pedals didn't rotate very much when the cranks were turned by hand. Mine are like this and I quite like it if I miss a clip in. Perhaps the newer ones have smoother bearings.

LOL @ pedro - you don't 'NEED' the carbon - but you may well want them

Will1985 - mine spin very freely - perhaps I have looser bearings!

I love them, it has to be said. I've always used Look on my road bikes, and the difference between these and the old Classics is the difference between my Raleigh Sun Solo hack fixed and my Planet X Stealth. I love my Raleigh. She's a great bike, nice to ride and I won't hear a bad word said about her. On the other hand, I wouldn't use her for racing because she's heavy and a bit slow. The Stealth is insanely light, insanely quick and I wouldn't use it for going to the shops.

Great, thanks for the feedback. Still not sure if I need to go carbon...

The carbon Keos cost £30 extra and save 16 grammes. I, personally, need to lose 14lbs. Guess where I should focus my time and effort?!

Carbon pedals over standard Keo Classics will make no difference whatsoever!

Sometimes a grin is big enough to be worth 30 quid.

True enough and carbon does look pretty! A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to tour what was then the Honda F1 factory at Brackley. Even the waste paper bins in the toilets were made out of carbon. What a great Friday afternoon project that was for someone  .

At moment I use Look Keo Classic with Grey Cleats and it is ok.

Look Keo 2 Max Carbon so more good.

I think just Look Easy isn't very nice becuase it can be adjusted.
