He was seen out in HTC kit before so I dont see why not. I'd just assume it was a fanboy anyway if you saw it.

Why not... he's earned it! In fact, I like that he does. Speaks volumes. As the thread title says, he's proud and is like a little kid to show that.

But, geez, can you imagine how his mates feel riding with him? What a buzz to be alongside the rainbow stripes.

One of the guys on twitter was completely entranced when he got the chance to ride with him.

A pal on the IofM saw him training in pouring rain in his stripes a few days ago. It's not often we get a World's Road, so anyone with pics or tweets please put 'em up here. Thanks.

He's proud of his achievement and rightly so IMO, no doubt with SKY prominant on the jersey as well, the sponsors won't be too upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stripes - surely they are vertical (a la Newcastle United footy team) , the world champion jersey has bands, which run horizontal round the jersey.
Pedant? Probably, but "stripes" just does not seem right.

What ever it's a great thing to see a roadman from GB wearing the kit. Shame about all the sillies who go and buy one, it would be best if no-one could buy a WC jersey, they are hard won!

You're probably right orm, probably 'bands' is better than 'stripes' in this context... but then you don't earn bands whereas you do earn your stripes! ;)
