Yesterday had a run out from Shipley to Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales via Silsden, Addingham and Bolton Abbey for those that know the route.

Missus and the lad met me there in the car and we had a brew, sandwich and an ice cream and then i set off back again.

45miles in total in about 3hrs 10 riding time. Not massively hilly but undulating all the way and i took it steady going out but pushed a bit harder coming back.

Felt bright as a button when i got back and was nice to have some company in the cafe.

Might do the same route next weekend but do it not stop.

well my longest ride since getting back on the bike has been 39.61mls in 2h29m30s but i used to do longer years ago. well very occasionally.

i'm currently building up my stamina by doing more miles over the weekend, 76 miles last weekend and 100.6 miles this weekend, spread over 3 rides. i'll soon start working on two 50 mile rides etc until I'm comfortable over the longer distance ;)

just got back from a real good ride of 28.93mls which i did in 1h37m at an average speed of 17.9mph, my fastest average to date, so I'm happy :?:

good stuff there. that's an impressive average over nearly 30 miles.

It's quite enjoyable building up the long rides isn't it, venturing further from home, which means for me at least getting into some stunning countryside.

yeah, i couldn't believe it, i thought my computer had got it wrong but the time was confirmed by my stopwatch (always run the watch as well).

i almost got to the magic 18mph but there's always next week.

i didn't feel so good on Saturday and Sunday but today was so much better
