Long road bike routes close to/in peterlee

I am going to be doing my first coast to coast next month and I am trying to build up my miles, however I can't seem to find any good long distance road rides starting at peterlee or in a close distance. I hav sent out for numerous route packs yet none have actually arrived. I was just wondering if anyone had any good sites they use or know of any good rides. I am hoping for a ride atleast 80 mile, or a shorter one in which I can repeat.

you could try using a site like bikehike and use the osmcycle map to find cycle paths or you can just plan a route using roads it is up to you.

there is national cycle network route 1 and 14 going through shotton which is near peterlee.
