Long Reach Brake Calipers

I need a brake caliper with a drop of 67mm,measured centre of mounting bolt to centre of braking surface.These need to be in period from late 70's.Any suggestions?

Try a cycle jumble, such as the sort organised by local CTC clubs.

Weinmann did a whole range of different reach brake calipers. www.VeloBase.com would probably be one of the best places to do your research and there are usually a lot of brakes for sale on ebay.

Try HERE. They don't appear to have any right now, (although the BR020's look a longer drop than standard, but might be an illusion), but it's got to be worth an email to them.

They may have some they've just not got around to fettling and listing yet.

DP's yes and not strictly of the period although DP's have been around longer than you think, personally I prefer being able to stop over being entirely period.

Thinking of making an aluminium adaptor,to close the gap down,so it will take a standard campag caliper,thoughts?

Raleigh 20s (shoppers) had extra long brake callipers - you could try looking for those.

Searched the garage,found an old set of 999's,swap the back to the front,&I have brakes.

Had a change of mind,going to machine a one piece drop mount,it will fit up inside the steerer,so might not look that bad.Will post piccys.
