A personal subject,but advice required..
Training for a 60 mile event in june..at the moment doing 30 miles..afterwards,probably like a few riders, can get soreness in the "UNDERCRACKER DEPT"..right in the crease of inner thigh and backside.
I wear lycra shorts.but dont want to go commando..what's the best cream to apply before maybe that will help..does anyone use a vaseline/sudocreme before rides to aid riding.

Go commando.
It's the best way and is meant to be with lycra.
It's your undercrackers causing the chafing.
Lycra is designed not to chafe.
Use undercracker cream, vaseline or sudocrem. (what I use)
Problem should be solved.

When doing distance walking i use Vaseline, tbh i need to try some more stuff on the market as i find Vaseline to think thick to spread if you know what i mean ^_^

Like ianrauk said. Commando. Underwear turns into a wet rag that will chafe you. Cycling shorts are designed to stop exactly this happening by moving with your body and having a big moisture absorbing anti-bacterial chamois insert. They are not designed to be worn with regular underwear which renders the chamois useless.

Commando is the way to go. Honestly, you'll never go back - your boxers cause chaffing and you won't be able to get rid of it.

im a little tea pot
i managed 82 miles the other week with just decent padded lycra (with a pair of footie shorts over the top) with no chaffing or soreness and no products inbetween skin and padding!

edit : that was day 1 of a 3 day ride, day 2 and 3 still had no chaffing just achey sit bones!
