London To Paris Equipment

I am doing the London to Paris in August. As a beginner i havent got a great deal of kit and was wondering what will be best clothing wise. I already have a number of under armour base layer tops. Obviously cycling shorts are a must. Any other suggestions and sites i can buy the items from at a decent price.

Are you carrying everything on your bike? I rejected bibs as an option for a long ride for several reason, but the amount of room the'd have taken in the saddle back would have been reason enough.

Bibs take no more space than (horrible pull half way up your back and tie draw string so tight you cut your tummy in half shorts)

An update...

Did 66 miles in them today and I now think they are somewhat better than OK; quite comfortable and no chafing - and I forgot the cream before I left....

Also had on an Aldi top and that's been fine too....
