How many % are cycling with race bike and mountainbikes
for this 100 miles distance?
What is the average for such a day trip?

Still 2 Weeks to go.
We are a little groep of 67.
30 invidual Riders
37 Team riders.
The weather should be fine.
Have anybody experience to get out of London by Train.
Waterloo Station-to Sunbury ?

Normally a doddle. You just stand with your bike in any entrance, or find the carriage with bike spaces/wheelchair space and strap it in. Saturday 23? Look's like it's a bus replacement service http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/WAT/SUU/230716/1945/first

You could cycle 5 miles from Teddington, but that's slow service. Better to cycle 2.x miles from Feltham, as there are express trains there. Same rules, you can bring your bike, no restrictions on a Saturday morning.

(don't buy a rail ticket, use oyster or contactless cards - it will be about half that price)

Thanks anyway for your quick answer.
I ride a day before to Sunbury.
Mabey the chance to catch the train between 10 am-to 3 pm will be larger.
To get out of the City with two bags seemed to be a nightmare for cycling.

Hi Pollux. My 17 year old is planning this trip with three mates in August. They are raising money for the Brain Cancer Charity, as two of the fathers are dying of the disease. I am trying to find a carefully thought out, safe route for them. Have been crashing around sites looking for an off-the-shelf solution for some time. The BHF were unhelpful. Do you happen to still have the route you followed in a format I could borrow. It would save me hours of work. Many thanks.

Just to be clear: you're looking for a route from London to Lands End for 4 teenage boys? I am sure cycle chat can help.
