Lodge Lane - Saughall

Does anyone in the Chester area know if you can ride along Lodge Lane in Saughall, heading out to the A494 Bypass and the getting onto the cycle route 563?

On google earth it looks like you can but streetview says its a private road, would like a bit of advice before I attempt it and chased by some farmer

Which bit of the road are you talking about? Woodbank Lane and Lodge Lane before the 494 are fine (well I've cycled up them), is it the section once you've crossed the 494 and before you join Woodbank Lane? TBH, even if there is a problem, its easy enough to join the 563 at a slightly different point.

There's a Strava segment down it called, more farking cowshit on my tyres, so I'm guessing yes.

Thanks for the replies, the above shows the section I mean heading along Lodge Ln away from Long Ln. I'm about to leave now, so will give it a try and let you know.

I tired it on the way home yesterday and missed the turn off. Tried again this morning coming the opposite direction and from that way it say private road but is signed as a cycle route, all was good. Another alternative commuting route for me.

There is no bypass there!!!
Well there wasn't when I lived there in the 1950s & 60s
