Loch Ness Monster Challenge

Apologies if this has been mentioned before.

Is anyone here doing the Loch Ness Monster Challenge on the 12th September. It's a 4 person relay around Loch Ness. 4 running stages followed by 4 cycling stages, 120k total.

I took part in the Monster Challenge Yesterday the weather was brilliant & the views as you run/cycled along the loch were breath taking. This was a brilliant day & organised so well.

I totally agree with the previous 2 posts. A superbly organised event and great weather was a bonus. I'm definately up for this again next year.

Out of interest what did they use for the baton, or was it just touch of hands etc?

haaha .. we use the dobbin thing (think thats what they call it) that goes round your neck!!

I got a bit dillusional on my 16km run as it kept coming out of my top & I kept telling it "not yet" however it was right as I only had 1km to go.

My only criticsm of the event was not having distance markers as I think I could have pushed myself more

I think I did the same stages as you mustapedalafaster, 4 & 8, that run was the toughest I've ever done, I thought the 2nd uphill part would never end! Nice easy bike run though!

How did your team get on?

I did 4 & 8 too! I ran the leg a few weeks ago (benefit of being local!) which was a huge help as the hills did go on and it was great knowing the descent was the end! A fair job to put markers out over 27+ miles of track though.
Cycle was great

we did ok ... 170 something ... The cycle was great. Everyone has been asking about how it went etc ... Hopefully get a big crowd entered next year.
