I noticed while fixing a f**kkin puncture on the ride today, that my newly bought and fitted Shimano RS30 rear wheel has its valve hole off-centre so that the valve comes out through the side and middle of the rim instead of straight through the middle.
The valve does come through straight but I am wondering, is this design or defect, and if it is a flaw, does it matter? My puncture seems to have been a sort of pinch, as the tube was twisted in a couple of places and a fold had got pinched. I am concerned in case the offset position of the valve caused the tube to twist across its section under pressure. Am I just being stupid? I had the tubes at 90psi so I think it unlikely to be under-inflation that was the cause?
Hope someone(s) can help, thanks.
