Lobster anyone ??

I have eaten it 3 times (once in a swish, expensive restaurant) and have to say I happily live without it.

My son is a chef/owner of a nice place and decided to put lobster on the Christmas day menu.
Out of 80 covers just one person went with lobster.......that must say something

The idea that their pincers are clipped shut with rubber bands before they get boiled alive always put me off eating them.

I saw kangaroo on sale in my local Tesco ~20 years ago, I didn't buy any because it was expensive, but then wished I'd given it a try. Looks like I didn't miss much.

I tried it for the first time last June, in a seafood restaurant which was a treat for my partner. The lobster cost £45 and to be honest I would have happily eaten Monkfish, prawns, cod or Pollock instead and saved my money.

Don't get me wrong, it was ok, but it seems to be like the champagne of seafood. Over-priced for what it is. I also hate champagne.

I find crab or langoustine or big prawns etc more flavoursome and much better value.

I think they are fascinating creatures so like Octopus have no interest in eating them. Oddly I also like Hens.

god i love Octopus, went to Brindisi last year and had spicy versions every other day, with some nice Puglian white, oh yes.
