loading new maps to garmin

I have 2 maps already on my garmin edge 800 sd card from openstreet maps, labeled France.IMG and gmapsupp.IMG(uk maps).
I am now trying to put Spain on.
I have downloaded the zip file onto my computer and opened it and have gmapsupp.img.file. Now i know i need to change the name of this file before i send it to the garmin sd card as it is the same as one i already have on the card. I had to do this for the france map.
I cannot remeber how to do it and its sending me mad. When i right click on the gmapsupp it gives me no option to rename the file..How do i rename it.

If you are on a Windows operating system then click once on the file to select it then wait a couple of seconds before clicking it again which will make the filename editable. You can also select the file and then press F2 which should make the filename editable.

Still no joy!! I have changed the name and can send it to my Garmin SD card where the other maps are stored and can see it on the SD card.
But when the Sd card is loaded onto the Garmin the new maps are not there. When the Garmin is on i can go into the menus and can see basemap and 2 openmaps which are already on but not the new map...Any ideas..Its doing my head in..
The only thing i can think of is to get a new SD just for these maps and see if that works..

Not had much luck with other forms of maps for the Edge, bought the pukka Spanish city navigator. Loaded no problem. Same with france
